Description
1/10 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin
The Royal Canadian Mint’s Gold Maple Leaf (GML) coins are among the world’s most popular pure gold coins, with more than 25 million units sold since their introduction in 1979. The GML was the first bullion coin to achieve the heightened standard of 9999 purity, and has become the favored coin for many investors around the globe. One side showcases an attractive maple leaf design and the obverse displays Queen Elizabeth II. The gold for Maple Leaf coins come from Canadian mines, and the coins are guaranteed by the Government of Canada.
The 1/10 oz GML continues the legacy of its larger sibling, identified by its outstanding quality and heightened purity.
In 2015, the Mint introduced a new and unique security feature to confirm the authenticity of its fractional GML coins. Derived from the same award -winning security technology applied to Canada’s $1 and $2 circulation coins, the GML security feature consists of a textured maple leaf, micro-engraved with laser technology on a small area of the reverse side of the coin. In the centre of this mark, visible under magnification the coin’s year of issue is denoted.
*The micro-engraved maple leaf on the reverse side is only available on 1 oz Gold Maple Leaf coins.
